Kaw Language Director
Location: Kaw City, OK

Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Linguistics, Native American Studies, Anthropology, Education, the Humanities, or a closely related field of study is preferred. Administrative experience including appropriate computer skills in a Windows environment is required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess working knowledge of both English and another language, especially Dhegiha Siouan (Kanza, Osage, Omaha, Ponca, or Quapaw). Must be able to set priorities, to organize, to communicate effectively, to work efficiently and independently, and to establish good personal relations with supervisor, other workers, tribal citizens, and the public. Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and maintain such status, as well as possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be and continue to be insurable.

The Kaw Nation’s Kanza Clinic, located in Newkirk, OK, is seeking a licensed physician. Candidate will possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited United States Medical school.

At least two (2) years experience in general/family practice is preferred. Experience providing healthcare to Native Americans preferred. Applicant may not have any unresolved malpractice suits pending against him/her and shall not have any unresolved complaints on file in any state where he/she has a license to practice medicine. Experience with computerized medical records systems preferred. Computer literacy required.

Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical writing abilities. Candidate will have verifiable success in grant and contract development skills for at least two (2) years with an ability to teach others. Must have at least three (3) years exhibited familiarity with federal grant program organization, administration, control, and other management skills.
