Summer Environmental Intern: (2 Part Time)
Location: Kaw City, OK

The Kaw Nation is looking for two (2) summer interns to work part-time in our environmental department. Responsibilities include water, fish and micro invertebrates sampling and analysis, mowing, controlled burns, data entry and other environmental related duties. Position requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and data entry-level computer skills. Must have a valid driver’s license. Applicants with some college training preferred. This position will require 20 hours per week at a pay rate of $8.00 per hour for a High School graduate, $10.00 per hr for a college graduate. Hours will be during the mornings.

Human Resource Director: (Full Time)

Location: Kaw City, OK

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field, however, five (5) years Human Resource Management or related experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Candidates must also possess proficient verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills along with computer skills for a Microsoft environment and ability to handle HRIS programs. Successful candidate will possess knowledge of employment and labor laws. Prefer experience in developing and implementing personnel policies and experience with tribal organizations.

Position is responsible for maintenance and operation of personnel department and records, preparation and reporting of labor and employment data, hiring, training, planning, creating, and implementing human resource programs and policies including staffing, compensation, benefits, employee relations and training.

Qualifications:
21 years of Age
High School diploma/GED + at least two (2) years of education
Significant experience in law enforcement
CLEET certified required
BIA certification preferred
Supervisory experience required
Management experience preferred,
Management of grants preferred.

Must have ability to pass a background check, BIA accreditation and drug test, have a valid driver’s license, and be insurable under the policies of the Kaw Nation. Must be able to receive clearance as a federal police officer (cannot have a criminal background).

Kaw Nation Financial Officer
Location: Kaw City, OK

The Kaw Nation is seeking a Financial Officer with the following minimum qualifications: Bachelors Degree in accounting or a degree in a related field, such as finance or business administration that includes 24-semester hours in accounting and no less than five (5) years of experience. Knowledge of procedures and methods used to manage financial transactions, establish accounting procedures and systems to adequately account for tribal business, income and sales, federal grants, and contracts. Apply knowledge of tax laws; prepare financial reports, profit and loss statements, and direct investments programs. Must have the ability to design and implement a computer-based accrual accounting system for business and gaming requirements. This person reports to the Finance Director and will be trained to perform all duties of the Director for transition to the Director position upon his retirement.

The Kaw Nation’s Kanza Clinic, located in Newkirk, OK, is seeking a licensed physician. Candidate will possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited United States Medical school.

At least two (2) years experience in general/family practice is preferred. Experience providing healthcare to Native Americans preferred. Applicant may not have any unresolved malpractice suits pending against him/her and shall not have any unresolved complaints on file in any state where he/she has a license to practice medicine. Experience with computerized medical records systems preferred. Computer literacy required.
