Traveling Tribal Judge
Specialty Court

The Kaw Nation is seeking candidates for a part-time Specialty Court Judge, who will preside over cases involving domestic violence and sexual assault cases.

Qualifications for this position include:
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, together with an additional three years related experience is required. Qualified candidates will have the ability to identify, interpret and apply legal principles and precedents to difficult legal problems and must be able to concisely and accurately communicate, both orally and in writing. Candidates must have judicial experience handling domestic violence and sexual assault cases. The successful candidate will be required to learn tribal laws and customs unique to the Kaw Nation and must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others. Candidates must be a member in good standing of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, or of any United States Court of Appeals, or of any District Court of the United States, or a member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of any state of the United States and need not be a citizen of the Kaw Nation.
Background checks and drug tests will be administered. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, malpractice insurance and the eligibility to be insured under by the Kaw Nation’s insurance policies is required.

Receptionist: (Full-time)
Location: Kaw City, OK

Kaw Nation is seeking a full-time receptionist for the administrative office. The initial schedule is 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED. Must have a pleasant and outgoing demeanor and great phone presence and able to handle numerous varied tasks simultaneously and prioritize the various tasks. Needs office related and/or administrative skills including clerical and computer skills in a Windows environment with the ability to coordinate work efficiently and to establish good personal relations with others.

Executive Director: (Full-time, Salaried)
Location: Newkirk, OK

The Housing Authority of the Kaw Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma (“KHA”) is seeking applications for the full time salaried position of Executive Director. Responsible for day-to-day operations and overall administration of operations of KHA. Supervises staff, provides information and advice to Board of Commissioners, and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and requirements. Reports to Board of Commissioners. Minimum of Associate’s degree preferred and 3 years relevant experience required. Knowledge of and familiarity with laws and regulations related to Indian Housing required.
