Clinical Applications Coordinator

STATUS:           Regular, Full Time

LOCATION:       Kanza Health Clinic, Newkirk, OK

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Public Health. Preferably 2 or more years experience in the information technology field. Ability to work independently and to maintain strict confidentiality. Must have excellent computer skills and good communication skills to communicate with supervisors and coworkers. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

To act as a specialist in support of the daily interface between clinicians/medical.  Staff/dental staff and the electronic health record/electronic dental record.  Assess information in existing RPMS (Resource Patient Management System).  Which includes generating error reports and updating in preparation of EHR.  Analyzes and evaluates processes related to information flow and serves as the liaison between Area Office for implementation purposes.  Develops policies and procedures for integration into a new record system.  Provides training to clinical staff emphasizing timeliness, accuracy and the importance of security.  Install and configure EHR modules on computer systems. Provide problem resolution with ongoing utilization.  Promotes awareness of data validity and security and participates in efforts to correct deficiencies and errors.  Ensure the quality of medical records by verifying their completeness, accuracy, and proper entry into computer systems.  Submit required reporting to IHS Area Office and CMS on Meaningful Use, GPRA, and/or MACRA, as applicable.  Maintain professional relationships with clients, staff, management, tribal departments and other external partners to enhance and promote the effective and efficient use of the clinical software package.  Attend all trainings related to Electronic Health Records and related software packages and other training as identified.  Complete any other duties assigned by the immediate/controlling supervisor.

Background Investigator/ Office Assistant

Full-Time Position
Location:  Newkirk, OK

Qualifications:

The Candidate must have high school diploma or GED. The candidate must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. The candidate should possess good computer and communication skills. The candidate must have report writing skills and be familiar with Tribal, Federal and State laws regarding Indian Gaming, and criminal records. The applicant must have strong confidentiality work ethics. The applicant must possess knowledge of insurance in a group coverage setting. The applicant must not have a criminal record.

Responsibilities: 

Complete background investigations on all employees hired at the gaming facilities. Prepare, provide and maintain all gaming license applications pursuant to the Kaw Nation Gaming Ordinance. Simple Payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Insurance. The applicant must meet all deadlines that are set forth for each part of the job. Supply ordering, sorting and delivering. The applicant must be organized and self-motivated. All other duties assigned by the gaming commissioners. Working knowledge of all office equipment. INSURANCE DATA PROCESSOR
Regular, full-time
LOCATION: Newkirk, OK

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical/physician office setting. Work history should reflect knowledge of bookkeeping, medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding and third party billing. Must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Must exhibit the ability to recognize and use accordingly skills related to confidentiality issues. Must have the ability to answer multiple phone lines, multi task, and coordinate work efficiently. Must be able to communicate effectively with the public for the purpose of giving and obtaining information. Must have a valid driver license and be insurable.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Monitors and tracks insurance receivables for patient accounts. Collects past due balances from third party payers using accounts receivable aging reports. Communicates with insurance companies and patients to ensure correct insurance information and eligibility. Reconciles charges for patient labs and x-rays with third party receivables to ensure collection. Performs Receptionist duties in his/her absence. These duties include answering the phone and scheduling appointments. Assists with filing duties, which include retrieving, and filing patient information in charts and maintaining records in alpha sequence. Performs other duties, consistent with the position, as required or assigned by the immediate supervisor or controlling supervisor.

MAINTENANCE WORKER

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant must have general knowledge of lawn care, plumbing, and carpentry.  Knowledge of mechanical equipment and repair is preferred.  Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver License and be able to pass a drug test.  Applicant must be able to do heavy lifting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The employee will keep furniture, fixtures, and the physical structure of all buildings in good repair.  The employee will perform painting, carpentry, other maintenance duties, and make minor repairs to mechanical equipment.

  • Required to drive a vehicle.
  • Provide carpentry work.
  • Paints all surfaces according to instructions.
  • Attends to all plumbing, sewer, heating, air conditioning, and roof repairs.
  • Mends office furniture.
  • Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor for daily instructions and guidelines.

Job Description
To provide customers an outstanding retail experience. The Store Clerk performs a variety of retail functions which derive the highest levels of customer service.

Job Duties

Perform front-end cashier duties including operation of cash register and gas management systems.  Check-in and stock freight.  Clean.  Perform opening and closing duties.  Prepare and serve food items.  Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Education / Experience

Excellent communication skills.  Able to read and follow directions.  Self motivated and able to complete tasks without constant direction.  Able to operate cash register count change to customers.  Able to lift and carry at least 25 lbs.  Stand on your feet for long periods of time. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.  Basic math, computer and multi-tasking skills.

Must be available to work all shifts.

GAMING COMMISSIONER

GENERAL FUNCTION
The Commissioner is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission. The Commissioner provides administrative support to the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission, including managing and supervising Kaw Nation Gaming Commission staff, consultants, and contractors, records management, and the development and oversight of the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission budget. The Commissioner is responsible for the protection of the integrity of all gaming related activities of the Kaw Nation by ensuring all policies, procedures and gaming activities are in compliance with the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, the Minimum Internal Control Standards of the National Indian Kaw Nation Gaming Commission, the Tribal-State Compact, the Kaw Nation Gaming Ordinance and Tribal Internal Control Standards.

REPRESENTATIVE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to the Kaw Nation Tribal Council and maintains the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission. Manage and supervise the Licensing and Investigation Division and the Compliance and Enforcement Division of the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission as well as any other divisions, departments, sections or offices of the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission that the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission may establish.

Recruit, hire, supervise, and discipline Kaw Nation Gaming Commission staff, subject to all applicable hiring and employment laws and policies of the Kaw Nation. Report to the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission and Tribal Council on a regularly scheduled basis as to the status of Kaw Nation Gaming Commission activities and bring to the attention of the Tribal Council any issues, problems, concerns, or related communications. Manage and supervise all Kaw Nation Gaming Commission staff. Negotiate contracts for the acquisition of goods and services required by the Commission. Organize and plan the work for the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission. Ensure that all Commission investigations are conducted efficiently and professionally. Assist the Commission with challenges to Commission decisions. Ensure that the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission and Gaming Operations and Gaming Establishments are in full compliance with the Compact, the Nation’s Gaming Regulatory Act, and the regulations promulgated thereunder. Assist in enforcing Kaw Nation Gaming Commission orders and decisions. Develop and maintain a suitable records management and retention system and ensure that confidential records are maintained and protected from unauthorized release. Develop administrative procedures and internal controls for the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission. Serve as a liaison with local, state and federal agencies involved in licensing investigations. Develop and oversee the budget for the Kaw Nation Gaming Commission. Review monthly operations, assess performance against budget, and implement corrective action if necessary. Work with the managers and operators of the gaming facility and other gaming regulatory agencies as needed. Review complaints or concerns expressed by casino management.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to operate, finger, handle or feel objects or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasional lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Tolerance to work in a tobacco smoking environment is required.

Work hours are subject to change with salaried exempt overtime work required. Subject to elevated noise levels. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Prepares billings; monthly and quarterly reports; responsible for scheduling Kaw Nation Gaming Commission meetings.
• Prior experience with a regulatory agency preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of federal Indian law concepts preferred.
• Experience in policy development and administrative management helpful.
• Background Investigation, including fingerprinting, and a favorable suitability determination is required for the position.Position Requirements:

ICW Director: (Full Time)
Location: Kaw City, OK
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in child welfare and family services is preferred, or Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or related field and must have three (3) years experience in social services work in public or private sector.
Must have comprehension and understanding of the basic principles of Indian Child Welfare and operation and evaluation of community social services program planning and direction. Must have basic understanding of legal terms related to deprived cases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and organizes an Indian Child and Family Services program within the Kaw Nation Jurisdiction as described by the program goals and objectives. Continually assess the family service needs of the Kaw members and other Indian families living within the jurisdiction. Conduct/coordinates individual and family counseling as needed. Develops annual budget. Manages and operates Federal/State Grants maintaining compliance with each specific program. Acts as a liaison between Indian families and various service provider agencies. Represents the Kaw Nation in court cases involving Kaw Indian Children. Responsible for all programmatic reports to funding agencies and the CHAIR as required. Supervises and manages all staff. Perform any other work related duties requested by the Director or Chairman/CEO. Must have the ability to perform Director level duties as well as carrying and maintain a case load.

Must be able to pass a background check (no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children), pass adjudication through BIA, and a drug test. School Age Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:
This person must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time experience in a child care setting. Child Development Associate (CDA) or Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) or relevant training and experience are preferred. Applicant must be willing to obtain his/her CDA/CCP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The School Age Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining a safe and nurturing learning environment for children placed into his/her care. The School Age Coordinator must promote the Kanza Child Care Center (KCCC) in a positive way to parents and the community.

Provide classroom management. Maintain classroom record-keeping that may include attendance, meal counts, and daily/weekly progress reports to parents. Develop and implement weekly lesson plans. Maintain client confidentiality. Attend local, state, regional and national child care meetings/training when deemed appropriate. Responsible for keeping classroom clean. Transport children to and from school, fieldtrips, etc. Complete any other duties as assigned by the immediate or controlling supervisor.

CFO/Comptroller: (Full Time)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university is required, and CPA preferred. An extensive combination of non-degreed education and focused fund accounting experience may be considered. Must have a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of progressive experience in governmental accounting, finance management, solid knowledge base of GAAP and OMB Supercircular, and possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop working relationships with staff, Tribal Council, and the General Council. Requires great time management skills, experience with fund accounting software such as Abilia MIP, budgeting, expense analysis, cost benefit analysis, financial reporting, while having ability to interpret and translate same to general tribal population. Must be able read, analyze, interpret, prepare and comply with complex documents such as federal funding awards, financial award stipulations, indirect cost calculations and proposals, investment account management alongside a selected broker/firm. Strong ability to prepare consolidated budget giving a vision of cash capital requirements and overall financial health of the Kaw Nation. Lastly, candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word, with superior analytical and problem solving skills, including verbal, written, presentation and some training/instructing skills.
