VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Position Title: Maintenance Assistant
Status: Permanent, Full Time; Hourly

The Housing Authority of the Kaw Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma (“KHA”) is seeking applications for the full time position of Maintenance Assistant. Knowledge and proficiency in painting, dry-walling, basic plumbing repairs, other basic building maintenance, and operation of power tools is required. Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting in maintaining and servicing residential units, buildings, grounds, and other properties of KHA. Also responsible for timely and thorough completion of associated paperwork. Benefits include health insurance and optional dental, vision and life insurance.

Lifeguard/Receptionist: (Part time)

Location: Newkirk

The Kaw Nation is seeking a part-time (approx. 29 hrs per week)  lifeguard/Receptionist  in our wellness center in Newkirk, OK .   Applicants with American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications will be preferred.  Position will monitor activities within the pool area and enforce rules to prevent accidents.  Additional duties include doing receptionist work when pool is not being used.  Ability to work a flexible schedule (mornings, evenings, weekends, emergency) is a plus.

Grant Manager

Location: Kaw City, Oklahoma

The Kaw Nation is seeking an experienced full-time Grant Manager to assist with implementation and oversight for our grants.  Requirements include a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Business, Sociology, or related field.  At least five (5) years of experience at the level required for the position may be substituted for educational requirements.  Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical writing abilities. Must have at least three (3) years of experience with federal program organization, administration, and/or control, and other management skills such as supervisory experience and budgetary/financial management experience.  Experience Preferred in tribal programs administration, knowledge of the federal budget and appropriations process preferred, and a familiarity with tribal self-governance is also preferred.

Environmental Specialist: (Regular-Full-time)

Location: Kaw City, OK

Kaw Nation is seeking an environmental specialist to work in our Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Qualifications include a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or related field with a three (3) years or more experience in data gathering and interpretation for air, water, biological material and sedimentary samples. Candidate should have working knowledge of Geology (Topography, Hydrogeology, Watershed Analysis, and Soil Science), Mapping Coordinate Systems, Global Positioning Systems, Global Information Systems, Aerial Photographic Interpretation, and Water Quality. Must be able to produce written reports and have computer skills in a Windows environment. Position will require some outdoor work such as digging, lifting, mowing, and managing controlled burns.

Maintenance Worker – Temporary (full-time hours)

Location: Newkirk, OK

Qualifications:
Kaw Nation is seeking a temporary full-time worker .  Position is 40 hrs a week for a maximum of 120 days.  Applicants must have general knowledge of  lawn care, plumbing, and carpentry.  Knowledge of mechanical equipment and repair is preferred.  Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver License and be able to pass a drug test.  Applicant must be able to do heavy lifting.

Physician

Location: Newkirk, OK – Kanza Clinic

The Kaw Nation’s Kanza Clinic, located in Newkirk, OK, is seeking a licensed physician. Candidate will possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited United States Medical school.

At least two (2) years experience in general/family practice is preferred. Experience providing healthcare to Native Americans preferred. Applicant may not have any unresolved malpractice suits pending against him/her and shall not have any unresolved complaints on file in any state where he/she has a license to practice medicine. Experience with computerized medical records systems preferred. Computer literacy required.
