Kanza Health Clinic Pharmacy
The pharmacy strives to provide efficient prescription-filling service to patients. Prescriptions can be filled if they are written by Kanza Health Clinic physicians or outside physicians referred by the clinic. Emergency-room prescriptions can be filled if the medications are on the pharmacy formulary. Prescription orders may be phoned in at any time of day. When calling, specify the name of the recipient and either the prescription or prescription number. When ordering a prescription, please allow for 24 hours before coming for it. Upon arrival, patients should be ready with any insurance information.
Neal Smith, D.Ph.
Neal Smith, Pharmacy Manager for the Kanza Pharmacy, received his Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
His career started with an independent pharmacy in Bartlesville. Neal then joined the Jewel/Osco Pharmacy, later to be known as Albertsons Pharmacy. His starting position was a staff pharmacist, and later he became Pharmacy Manager. Albertsons opened a store in Ponca City when he transferred to the area.
Neal says he enjoys working for the Kaw Nation and tries to keep the atmosphere professional, yet personal, with the patients they serve.
Neal resides in Tonkawa, Okla. with his wife Kelsey, and their two daughters Ashley and Kyleigh.
Klem Chandler, D.Ph.
Klem Chandler received his Bachelor’s of Pharmacy and Pharm. D degrees from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Previously, Klem worked for Toni’s Pharmacy in Ponca City and Walgreen’s.
“I am happy to be working for the Kaw Nation because I enjoy the personal interaction with the patients and the staff,” Klem said.
Klem resides in Ponca City with his wife, Cindy.
Debbie Baker, Pharmacy Technician for Kanza Pharmacy, has worked for the Kaw Nation since 2007. She comes to us with over 15 years experience in the pharmacy field.
Earlier in her career she worked as a licensed Real Estate Agent. Debbie was employed at Walmart for 10 years, where she received her training and became a licensed Pharmacy Technician.
“I really enjoy working for the Kaw Nation/Kanza Pharmacy,” Debbie says. “The staff at the Clinic and the patients make coming to work every day such a joy.”
Debbie lives in the Newkirk area and has two children, Chad and Brandy. She is a grandmother of four, Taylor, Braxton, Shayleigh and Blake.
Joni Birdwell, Pharmacy Technician for the Kanza Pharmacy, joined Kanza Health Clinic in 2005. It was back in high school that Joni first started in the pharmacy field. She worked for Julie’s Pharmacy in Ponca City for 20 years.
Joni says, “I love the professional work environment here at the Kanza Pharmacy.”
Joni and her husband Mike make their home near Ponca City. She is the mother of three, Kristen, Michelle and J.W., and grandmother of Destiny and Briley Buell.
