OFFICE CLERK

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED and prefer experience in general office administration which includes advanced clerical and computer skills in a Windows environment. Further education or relevant training may substitute for experience. Prefer previous administrative or management work experience. Must be able to set priorities, organize, coordinate work efficiently, and to establish good personal relations with other workers. Must be able to pass a background check, drug test and maintain such status, as well as possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be and continue to be insurable.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The position provides clerical and administrative support services such as, but not limited to the following: word processing, mail administration (including e-mail), file maintenance and supervision, and project administration for the Tribal Council Secretary. Duties will include record maintenance.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Tribal Council Secretary of the Kaw Nation as assigned.
- Provide customer service to the public and the members and employees of the Kaw Nation who have business with the Tribal Council Secretary.
- Provide or receive information on behalf of the Tribal Council Secretary enter, retrieve, manage and protect data in various formats, written and electronic; and collect and compile statistical data as directed.
- Help schedule and maintain calendars for the Tribal Council Secretary or such other services as directed.
- Type and prepare correspondence and other documents as directed by the Tribal Council Secretary, make copies of materials, records and/or correspondence for distribution as directed; and file and track materials, records and correspondence to ensure delivery and/or return.
- Observe strict confidentiality in all matters, responsibilities and duties performed on behalf of the Tribal Council Secretary, the Tribal Council, and in accord with the Kaw Nation’s Freedom of Information and Privacy Act.
- Provide assistance to other departments in Kaw Nation upon requests from directors through immediate supervisor. Written records will be kept of departments helped and the nature of the work accomplished.
Complete any other duties assigned by the immediate or controlling supervisor.
STORE CLERK

Job Description:
To provide customers an outstanding retail experience. The Store Clerk performs a variety of retail functions which derive the highest levels of customer service.
Job Duties:
Perform front-end cashier duties including operation of cash register and gas management systems. Check-in and stock freight. Clean. Perform opening and closing duties. Prepare and serve food items. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager. Excellent communication skills. Able to read and follow directions. Self-motivated and able to complete tasks without constant direction. Able to operate cash register count change to customers. Able to lift and carry at least 25 lbs. Stand on your feet for long periods of time. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE/REGISTERED NURSE WOMEN’S HEALTH PROGRAM
TITLE: LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE/REGISTERED NURSE WOMEN’S HEALTH PROGRAM

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in an outpatient primary care clinic preferred. Computer proficiency required. Must have a valid LPN license in the state of Oklahoma. Candidate must also possess professional and personal integrity, have respect and sensitivity for a culturally diverse population, and have excellent communication and people skills. Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver License. Must be able to pass a drug test upon employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide nursing services to patients under Provider direction and orders.
- Assist in patient flow (i.e. Lab draw, EKG, Assist with minor surgical procedures).
- Perform other medical procedures in accordance with licensure and as per Provider’s orders.
- Travel to various clinic sites with Provider to assist as needed to facilitate patient flow to increase quality patient care.
- Work with participating clinics to reach women eligible for the program.
- Work within the community to reach women eligible for the program.
- Maintain a mammogram schedule for Kanza Clinic. Secure a list of program eligible women from the mobile mammography day at each site for the Program Director.
- Remind women of their appointments, initial, follow-up, and re-screening with phone calls and mailings.
- Maintain a database for tracking and follow-up of appointments to ensure women follow through with appointments and help identify barriers for women.
- Attend health fairs and other community events to promote the program and assist with health promotion and disease awareness/prevention.
- Assist patients with referrals, appointments and follow-up procedures.
- Assist patients in advising of benefits and resources available.
- Order lab/medical supplies when needed.
- Ensure transportation is available for participants needing assistance.
- Assume any additional responsibilities when assigned by supervisor to help facilitate patient flow and increase quality patient care.

CLINIC PHARMACY CLERK
TITLE: CLINIC PHARMACY CLERK

QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred. Strong verbal and communication skills. Good organizational and time-management abilities. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently and part of a team. Understanding pharmacy terminology and basic medications is beneficial. Must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have pharmacy software experience, ComputerRX preferred. Must have a valid driver license and be insurable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in inventory of pharmaceutical stock.
- Answer multiple phone lines and pharmacy window. Answer patient inquiries related to general pharmacy services. Direct patients to the pharmacist or pharmacy technician for medication-related questions.
- Greet and assist all patients promptly and courteously, creating a welcoming environment.
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times. Abide by HIPAA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff reporting patients’ or providers’ problems or issues within a timely manner.

Must be able to commute to Kaw City, Newkirk, or Ponca City depending on the needs of Kaw Nation. Experience in multi-phone line system with good communication skills and postage machines is preferred. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and be able to bend, push, and pull. Must be able to work in various climates and temperatures depending on the needs of the Kaw Nation. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting is preferred, Office Administration or related field or an Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with federal funding and financial reporting. Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Demonstrated organizational ability and an ability to meet deadlines. Must be familiar with funding research, identification of potential funding opportunities, federal grant program organization, funding portals, and reporting methods. Must have experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Must be able to complete federal financial reporting as well as process and disseminate information to the Department Director. Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Work with Director and grant staff on all grant related duties as designated by Grants & Contracts Director.
- Complete federal financial reporting in a timely manner and distribute all monthly financials to program employees.
- Update and maintain internal grants/contracts monitoring system that provides all relevant information regarding grants in operation and development.
- Assist in federal grant/contract monitoring in the area of procedure development, documentation, software spreadsheet and database development.
- Assist grant team with proposals including writing, editing, table of contents, packaging, mailing, copies, preparing attachments and portal management.
- Prepare cover letters and award documentation for Chair signature.
- Responsible for the setup, filing and maintaining of grant folders relevant to the federal funding efforts of the tribe.

LAND MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR
TITLE: Land Management Director

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Exposure to elements, walking long distances, and carrying equipment are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in land resource management, biology, forestry, or a related field.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of biological, ecological, and environmental principles preferred. Knowledge of land management principles and techniques. Ability to plan, motivate, direct, and evaluate the work of land management employees. Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and use topographic maps, land surveys, legal property descriptions, and aerial photographs. Ability to use a computer and related software. Ability to operate a variety of power tools and equipment, including chainsaws, all-terrain vehicles, weed eaters, brush mowers, and pesticide sprayers. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, including detailed reports. Skill in basic carpentry. Skill in vehicle and small motor maintenance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develops, plans, and conducts on-site land management activities, including controlled burns, boundary demarcation, trail development and maintenance, according to the provisions of approved management plans.
- Maintain all equipment and supplies for land management, seek, implement, and monitor contracts for land management activities.
- Recruits, trains, and evaluates the work of land management employees. Is the team leader and develops and implements management plan activities, providing training as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

POLICE OFFICER
TITLE: POLICE OFFICER

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a valid Driver License. BIA and/or CLEET Law Enforcement Certification preferred. Each officer should possess good communication skills and be in good physical condition. Weekend and nights required. Officers can not have a criminal background.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patrol Kaw Nation land, investigate, enforce, and cite or arrest violators of CFR, Tribal Law, and State and Federal laws and refer to proper authorities.
- Makes assigned, periodic inspections and patrols of buildings and property.
- Performs duties assigned by patrol checklist including an examination of all doors, windows, and gates and reports any irregularities to the Police Supervisor.
- Prepare complete and accurate reports with all of the facts.
- Report any fire, theft, or other dangerous or irregular occurrences to his/her supervisor.
- Record and report description(s) of person(s), license tag(s), and automobile(s) of unauthorized person(s) on property.
- Record and submit an accurate log sheet at the end of the each shift, which in addition to regular duties and irregular occurrences, records temperature and weather conditions.
- Testify in Tribal, Federal, and State courts when necessary.
- Serve court documents such as arrests warrants, search warrants, summons, subpoenas, and civil papers.
- Responds to request(s) for assistance on land under tribal jurisdiction.
- Provide back-up services when requested to Newkirk City Police and Kay County Sheriff’s Department.
- Perform any other responsibilities related to Tribal Police as assigned by the immediate/controlling supervisor.

- At least two (2) years of experience in general/family practice is preferred.
- CPR certification and valid driver’s license.
- Experience with Native American healthcare is preferred.
- No unresolved malpractice suits or complaints on file in any state of licensure.
- Knowledge of diagnosing and treating human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
- Familiarity with computerized medical records systems and computer literacy required.
Physician Assistant (PA)
- Master’s degree from an accredited educational program for Physician Assistants.
- Licensed in Oklahoma or an accredited state accepted in Oklahoma.
- Certification/license by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control.
- At least two (2) years of experience in general/family practice preferred.

- National Nurse Practitioner Certification.

RESPONSIBILITIES
All positions share the following duties and responsibilities, with some variation based on scope of practice:
- Provide medical care and services to patients at the Kanza Health Center, including physical examinations, diagnostic procedures, medications, and treatment plans.
- Document patient services and treatment plans in the RPMS Electronic Health Records system.
- Comply with all clinical quality assurance and certification requirements.
- Diagnose, manage, and treat illnesses and diseases.

DAY CARE TEACHER

POSITION DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
This person must be at least 18 years of age, must have or working toward obtaining CDA. Must have experience
working with young children. Must have or be willing to complete certification in First Aid and CPR. Must have ability to
pass random drug testing requirements throughout employment. Ability to pass an Oklahoma State Bureau of
Investigation background check. Cannot have been convicted of or pied guilty to any of the following: Child Abuse or
Neglect, Possession, Sale or Distribution of an illegal substance, sexual misconduct of any form and Assault and Battery.
Applicant must be willing to gain more knowledge, training, and ed experience in childhood development.
Must be able to pass a background check, adjudication through the Kaw Nation Police Department and a pre-employment

his/her care.
2. The Teacher must promote the Kaw Nation Day Care Center in a positive way to parents and the community.

4. Must be willing to perform all duties inherent in a childcare setting.
5. Monitors children in the classroom and on the playground at all times. At no shall any child be left unsupervised.
Staff must maintain constant vigilance.
6. Must adhere to the Kaw Nation Daycare Policies and Procedures and Staff Handbook.
7. Must observe strive confidentiality regarding children, families and staff and will make parents aware of this policy.
8. Must provide a nurturing, supportive, and positive classroom climate that encourages student learning.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Able to work in an intense, concentrated environment. Complies with all office, local, state, and American Dental Association regulations, protocols, and procedures. At least two (2) years experience in general/family practice is preferred. Experience providing healthcare to Native Americans preferred.
